As A Result Of Tukin Case And Mandiodo Mine Corruption, KESDM Holds A Thorough Audit
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) through the Inspectorate General of Energy and Mineral Resources conducted a thorough audit of its environment.
Inspector General (Irjen) Bambang Suswantono said that so far the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has only conducted a thematic audit so that there is a gap that resulted in the arrest of several officials within the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources recently.
"This performance audit will be comprehensive. This means that so far we have carried out the thematic audit, not comprehensively," he told the media quoted on Tuesday, October 17.
Bambang said that the corruption case of performance allowances (tukin) was one example of a case that occurred because a thorough audit was not carried out. For this reason, his party will conduct an audit until the end of the year so that similar cases are not resurfaced.
"Right now, we are conducting a thorough sweep until the end of the year, which ones have not been audited, we have audited. Closing the shortcomings that have not been audited," explained Bambang. He said, as a result of the case of the Tukin corruption, the Inspectorate General of Energy and Mineral Resources will not only fix human resources within the scope of Energy and Mineral Resources but also governance.

"All governance issues. That's why we fix it slowly. Not only humans, the governance, the rules. Slowly, we need time," added Bambang.
He also ensured that he would be at the forefront of eradicating all forms of gratification at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
After the alleged corruption case of the Mandiodo Block mine involving the former Director General of Mineral and Coal, he confirmed that the practice of bribery and the game of ESDM employees with the company would not be allowed to pass.
"I've said there are no more bribes, no more gratuities and I stand at the forefront," concluded Bambang.
