Autonomous Patrol Vehicles For Settlements Are Equipped With Artificial Intelligence And 360 Cameras
JAKARTA - Dubai Police, United Arab Emirates will have a fleet of autonomous security patrols for residential environments, equipped with a variety of advanced technology.
This autonomous security patrol vehicle was launched by Dubai Police on the sidelines of the 2023 Global Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX) event which took place on October 16-20 2023 at the Dubai World Trade Center. The battery of this vehicle lasted up to 15 hours and was able to reach a speed of 5 to 7 kilometers per hour, said Lieutenant Rashid bin Haidar of the General Department of Dubai Police Administration, which gave an explanation to exhibition visitors, quoted from the Dubai Police website, October 17.
Designed specifically for residential areas, the main goal of this autonomous patrol vehicle is to improve security, equipped with a variety of advanced features.
First, the advanced camera feature with the ability to capture 360 degrees of images. Next, with smart technology and artificial intelligence, this autonomous patrol vehicle has the ability to detect criminal behavior, recognize faces to read car number plates.
In addition, this autonomous patrol vehicle is also equipped with live communication technology, which allows it to connect in real-time with the Command and Control Center at the Dubai Police General Operations Department.
Lieutenant Rashid added that this patrol vehicle can also be equipped with drones.

"This drone can access areas that cannot be reached by vehicles and maintain direct wireless communication with patrols after launch," he said.
However, the Dubai Police have not announced when it will start operating the autonomous patrol vehicle.
