Humanitarian Activist Disaster Preparedness Dies Persecuted By Youth Gangs
Garut Police arrested four people who were suspected of being the perpetrators of the abuse of a motorcycle rider, causing the victim to die on Jalan Ahmad Yani, Garut Regency, West Java, early Sunday, October 15.
"He has been arrested, there are four people," said Head of the Garut Police Criminal Investigation Unit AKP Ari Rinaldo, quoted from Antara, Sunday, October 15.
Victim Panji Nurhakim (37), a resident of Situgede, Karangpawitan District, Garut Regency, died after suffering persecution using a sharp weapon by an unknown group of people riding a motorcycle on Ahmad Yani Street.
The victim was then taken to the Dr. Slamet Regional General Hospital (RSUD), and declared dead.
Ari conveyed that there was an incident, his staff immediately pursued the perpetrator, and soon only a matter of hours the suspect was arrested.
"It happened at 2 in the morning, at that time they immediately moved, not long after they (the four suspected perpetrators) were arrested," he said.

He conveyed that the incident was allegedly due to a misunderstanding on the streets, then there was a commotion that led to persecution of the victim.
The police, he said, are still undergoing further examination of the alleged perpetrator, who is estimated to be a teenager.
"There was a misunderstanding on the street from both sides, and we are currently still conducting investigations," he said.
The police are currently still conducting further investigations, and the victim's body was also autopsied at the Sartika Asih Police Hospital in Bandung for investigation purposes.
The victim is known to be a disaster prepared humanitarian activist from the Garut Islamic Association (Persis) organization.
The victim died from serious injuries to a number of people.
