Skybridge Connecting Bogor-Paledang Station Operating Next Year

BOGOR - Bandung Railway Engineering Center (BTP) Bogor - Sukabumi Region reported the progress of the sky bridge construction connecting Bogor and Paledang stations to the Deputy Mayor of Bogor, Dedie A Rachim at Bogor City Hall, Wednesday, October 11.

The latest progress, the construction of the bridge for pedestrians has reached 72 percent. It is planned that by the beginning of the year it can be used.

Dedie Rachim said, there are several things that need to be considered. Most importantly, that skybridge will cause a revival of the community's economy.

"One of them is that we want the skybridge to be connected to one of the plazas, which will later be used as a MSME shelter. So that if it can be used there as a center by Bogor, then there will be an economic revival of train passengers going to shop at one of the plazas in Bogor," he said.

Connecting Dedie, there are several things that need a final solution. Such as access to entry and exit from the skybridge that enters the Alun - Bogor City Square area. Including the arrangement whether people can go up and down, or only train passengers.

"Then third, we also discussed future plans, especially the road problems that we liquidated. The school road, which was previously the train crossing, has now closed its level crossings. So there is a side of the school road on the west and east sides," he explained.

Dedie also emphasized that the development of this skybridge does not harm the community. In the future, it is also possible that there is an MoU scheme for the problem of traders around the skybridge and further discussion is needed.

There are also other options for anticipatory criminal problems. The Bogor City Government (Pemkot) wants to provide guarantees to the public that skybridge users are safe from pickpockets, for example.

"It has been discussed which areas are the responsibility of the City Government, which are the responsibilities areas of PT KAI. We want the management later, then maybe it should also be added to IT and CCTV and so on. To make sure the rail user community is safer, more comfortable and easy to access," he said.
