Detection Of 171 Hotspots In East Kalimantan, BMKG Asks People To Be Alert
BALIKPAPAN - The Balikpapan Station Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) detected 171 hotspots spread across seven districts in East Kalimantan Province (KaltIm), so all parties were asked to be vigilant and take care of each other.
"A total of 171 hotspots were detected throughout last Wednesday from 01.00 to 24.00 WITA," said the Coordinator for Data and Information at the Sultan Aji Meteorological Station Muhammad Sulaiman - Sepinggan BMKG Balikpapan Station, Diyan Novrida, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, October 12,.
Hotspots are indicators of forest or land fires (karhutla) detected from a location, namely with relatively high temperatures compared to the surrounding temperatures.
He appealed to all parties to take care of each other and be vigilant, such as not throwing cigarette butts carelessly on dry land, then not burning while managing the land so that there is no spread of forest and land fires.
The distribution of hotspots has been informed to related parties, including the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), both at the provincial and district levels in order to receive further treatment.
The day before, BMKG Balikpapan also detected 173 hotspots spread over six districts, namely in Paser 116, Penajam Paser Utara five, West Kutai three, East Kutai four, Kutai Kartanegara 36, and Berau Regency detected nine points.

Meanwhile, 171 hotspots spread over seven districts during last Wednesday, details are 109 points in Paser Regency, one in North Penajam Paser, one in West Kutai, 16 in East Kutai, 35 in Kutai Kartanegara, seven in Berau, and two points in Mahakam Ulu Regency.
