JAKARTA - The Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) has asked the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to work quickly and optimally to handle corruption cases at the Ministry of Agriculture. The ongoing investigation should not be held hostage by the alleged extortion of the KPK leadership handled by the Polda Metro Jaya. This was conveyed by MAKI Coordinator Boyamin Saiman in response to allegations that emerged in the midst of a corruption investigation that dragged former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo. "I ask the KPK to handle cases of alleged corruption with the suspect Mentan Syahrul to be processed quickly as well," Boyamin told reporters quoted on Wednesday, October 11. "So it must go hand in hand, it must be fast with the Polda Metro Jaya," he continued. In this way, it is believed that Syahrul and other suspects can account for their actions. Likewise, with the alleged extortion handled by the police can be immediately proven. "So that all are bright. Don't let anyone be held hostage and also compromise with each other," said Boyamin. Previously, Polda Metro Jaya has raised the status of the alleged extortion case committed by KPK officials to SYL to the investigation stage. The decision was based on the results of the case title.
