Hutama Karya Targets Semarang-Demak Toll Project Section 1A Rampung April 2025
JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) began working on the Semarang-Demak toll road project section 1A on January 16, 2023, along 4 km. The toll road project is targeted for completion in April 2025.
"The project worth IDR 2.02 trillion is targeted for completion in April 2025," said Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Tjahjo Purnomo in a written statement received by VOI, Friday, October 6.
Tjahjo said this project was carried out together with the Beijing Urban Construction Group.co.Ltd (BUCG) through Operational Cooperation (KSO) with each portion of work in this project Hutama Karya at 40.44 percent and BUCG 59.56 percent.
"Hutama Karya is committed to completing this project on time so that the benefits can be felt immediately by the surrounding community, especially in Semarang and Demak," he added.
He added that the scope of Hutama Karya's work on this project includes the work of the elevated area, the preparation of the Concrete Spun Pile (CSP), asphalt work, structural excavation, existing lifting girder, and the demolition of the Kaligawe Bridge by increasing the elevation by approximately 1 meter (m) using the Fast Track Concrete Parliament technology.
"The project progress until the third week of August 2023 has reached 12.9 percent," said Tjahjo.

Even so, Tjahjo said, there were challenges faced in working on the Semarang-Demak Toll Road project, namely traffic (traffic) which was congested, so it was necessary to carry out a traffic engineering method when the work on the demolition and elevation of the Kaligawe Bridge.
The Kaligawe Bridge itself is a vital route that is often passed by business transportation from Jakarta to Surabaya and every year at the end of every year there is a flood under the bridge.
"If the Semarang-Demak section 1A toll road project has been completed, it is hoped that it can facilitate traffic in the Kaligawe Semarang area, there will be no tidal flooding in the Kaligawe and Sayung areas, as well as increase connectivity in the Central Java region and can improve the economy of the local community," he concluded.
