A Total Of 20 Hectares Of Cannabis Fields In Aceh Were Destroyed By BNN
BANDA ACEH - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) has destroyed approximately 20 hectares of marijuana fields in Tanah Rencong from January to October 2023.
"During 2023, there were eight locations that we destroyed spread across Aceh Besar, North Aceh, Nagan Raya, around 18-20 hectares," said Acting Director of Narcotics Deputy for Eradication of BNN Kombes Guntur Aryo Tejo, in Aceh Besar as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 3.
Kombes Guntur made this statement on the sidelines of the destruction of one hectare of the latest marijuana field found in the Pulo Village area, Seulimeum District, Aceh Besar.
Guntur said that the marijuana field, which had just been destroyed by one hectare in Aceh Besar, was at the top of the Pulo village mountain, namely at an altitude of 1,300 MDPLs, and was ready to harvest.
"Approximately one hectare of marijuana fields that we found are ready for harvest. It is estimated that there are around 15 thousand cannabis trees with a total weight of 7.5 tons," he said.
He said the discovery of the cannabis field was the result of a collaboration between the Indonesian National BNN and the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG) through the implementation of unmanned Aircraft (PTTA) activities.
The results then we follow up with an investigation on September 20-29, 2023. So we do the extermination.
"For the suspects, we are still investigating, looking for the owner of the cannabis plant, we ask for help from the Agriculture, Forestry Service. Whether the land belongs to individuals or state land," he said.
