Knock! DPR Plenary Approves IKN Law
JAKARTA - The Indonesian House of Representatives ratified the revision of Law Number 3 of 2022 concerning the State Capital (IKN) in the 7th plenary session of the DPR RI session I of the 2023-2024 session which was held today, Tuesday, October 3. Of the nine factions in the DPR, only the PKS faction rejected the revision of the IKN Law. "With the approval of the amendment to the draft law for amendment number 2 of 2022 concerning the nation's capital, we hope that it is necessary to optimize the implementation of preparations for the development and relocation of the nation's capital," said Deputy Chairman of Commission II DPR Ahmad Doli Kurnia when reading the report at the plenary meeting, Tuesday, October 3. The plenary meeting then asked all members for decision making. Seven factions stated that they agreed, one accepted with a note and one faction rejected. "Based on the report of the chairman of Commission II of the DPR that there were 7 factions, the PDIP faction, the Gerindra faction of NasDem, the PKB faction, the PAN fraction and the PPP faction approved the bill on changes to Law number 3 of 2022 concerning the State Capital to be continued in the level II discussion in the plenary meeting today to be ratified into law, "said Deputy Speaker of the DPR Sufmi Dasco Ahmad as the chair of the meeting. Democratic Faction agrees with a note on the bill of amendments to number 3 of 2022 concerning IKN to be continued in level II discussions or approved by the DPR. "While PKS rejects the bill to change number 3 of 2022 concerning the State Capital to be continued in level II meetings today," said Dasco.

In addition to ratifying the revision of the IKN Law, the DPR will also make a decision on the State Civil Apparatus Bill (ASN) and make decisions regarding the priority national legislation program (prolegnas) in 2024. The DPR will also make a decision on the constitutional judge from the DPR, namely Arsul Sani, which was agreed upon by Commission III of the DPR first.
