Turkish Student From East Java: Erick Thohir Has Great Potential To Become Vice Presidential Candidate For Prabowo Subianto
JAKARTA - Erick Thohir is a businessman and politician who has a track record of various national and international achievements. Since becoming Minister of BUMN, he has also successfully headed various organizations, such as being the General Chair of PSSI. This time, Indonesian Football is experiencing progress and of course he will be better prepared to prepare the Indonesian Football Team to host the upcoming U-17 World Cup.
Recently, Erick Thohir's name has emerged again because the results in various surveys have outperformed the votes in East Java, beating Khofifah as Governor of East Java himself, as Vice Presidential Candidate for Prabowo Subianto. This was initiated by Erick Thohir, who is also very close to various Nahdliyyin kyai and ulama in East Java.
Achmal Junmiadi, a postgraduate student at Istanbul Trade University, Turkey, who is also originally from Madurese, East Java, said. The phenomenon of Erick Thohir being able to surpass Khofifah is because he has long been close to NU and Islamic boarding school circles and is even currently an active cadre of one of NU's youth wings, namely Anshor Banser.
"So it is not surprising that since Mr. Erick Thohir came to East Java, from the cities of Java, Madura, to Tapal Kuda, many people, especially kyai and Islamic students, have trusted him to be able to become Deputy National Leader as Vice President to accompany Mr. Prabowo Subianto," he explained in his statement, quoted Tuesday 3 October.

Apart from that, he continued, Erick Thohir's background as a civilian and businessman would be very fitting if he accompanied Prabowo Subianto, who came from the military.
"These two figures are certainly very compatible, especially since both have been considered successful as Ministers in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet in the era of Mr. President Jokowi, of course they will be very worthy of being able to continue Mr. Jokowi's future programs," said Achmal, who is also one of the alumni of the Islamic boarding school that founded NU in Indonesia.
