Chairman Of PB Wushu Indonesia Expresses His Thank You To The 2022 AG Heroes Wushu Athletes
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Wushu Executive Board Airlangga Hartarto said he was proud of the achievements of wushu athletes who had fought at the 2022 Asian Games Hangzhou, China. Airlangga said that the athletes who had fought on behalf of Indonesia were heroes for all people in the country.
"I really appreciate all of your hard work. From the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank all the athletes who have fought, and congratulations to the athletes who managed to bring the medal home to the country," said Airlangga when welcoming the return of the national wushu athletes in Jakarta, Saturday 30 September.
Indonesia managed to donate five medals from the wushu sport. The five medals were won, Harris Horatius contributed one gold in the category of Men's Nanquan; two silver medals were donated by Edgar Xavier Marvelo (Men's Channgquan) and Samuel Marbun (Men's 65 kg). Meanwhile, two bronze medals were donated by Seraf Naro Siregar (Men's Daoshu & Gunshu) and Tariqa Dea Fiorentina (Women's 52 kg), respectively.
Airlangga emphasized that Indonesia's success in bringing home five medals at the 2022 Asian Games was hard work together.
The General Chairperson of the Golkar Party DPP said that it was not only athletes who had shown all their abilities, but that the ranks of coaches and officials also played behind the scenes for athletes to achieve this.
"When compared to the 2018 Asian Games, we get one additional silver even though the gold amount is the same, namely one," said Airlangga.

Airlangga, who is also the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, added that the results obtained from the 2022 Asian Games this time will be used as evaluation material so that the wushu branch can be even better in the next international event.
"We remain optimistic, in the future, the achievements of our wushu athletes will be more successful not only in Asia, but also in the world. This is our collective determination in the national wushu people," said the chairman of PB Wushu.
Previously, Harris Horatius admitted to presenting a gold medal for all Indonesian people. He said he was proud to be able to participate in making the song Indonesia Raya echoing in Hangzhou, China.
"I present this gold medal for the country, Indonesia Raya has been heard. Praise God I am very grateful and this is also for my parents and wife," said Harris.
