Heru Budi Asks Pasar Jaya To Be Sensitive To The Problem Of Tanah Abang Traders

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono asked Perumda Pasar Jaya to accelerate the handling of problems experienced by traders at Tanah Abang Market, Central Jakarta.

According to Heru, regional-owned enterprises (BUMD) managing the market must be sensitive to complaints from traders, especially in Tanah Abang, which is now a concern of the central government.

"I ordered the acceleration. Pasar Jaya must follow the concept of changing the facts and the latest data," Heru told reporters, Friday, September 29.

Heru has summoned the board of directors of Pasar Jaya several times. Today, Heru also summoned the board of directors to instruct the acceleration of problem management as well as to anticipate food availability towards the end of the year.

"I also call related to basic necessities and food," said Heru.

Recently, Pasar Tanan Abang traders have complained about their declining income. The lack of buyers in Tanah Abang, admitted by traders, occurred because of the rampant sellers who peddle their wares on TikTok Shop.

One solution, according to Heru, is the adaptation of market digitization. MSME actors will later receive socialization to have witnesses digitally in selling their wares.

"Yes, that's right (market digitization). It will be discussed with markets, MSMEs, e-commerce friends, tomorrow," said Heru.

In addition, it has been a long time since Blok G Tanah Abang was empty of buyers. There are no buyers in Blok G in the front row of the building. However, very few buyers came to these kiosks. When entering the market, it turns out that many kiosks are also closed.

A number of lights in the inner kiosk alley of Block G, both on the 1, 2, and 3 floors, were turned off. Many wall paints were unfolded. However, there are still few traders who survive inside.

What is more burdensome, traders still have to pay the market levy withdrawn by Pasar Jaya. In fact, Pasar Jaya has also attached a warning letter to pay for the cost of managing the market to closed kiosks.

On this matter, the DKI Jakarta Regional Secretary (Sekda) Joko Agus Setyono ensured that the Tanah Abang Market Block G, Central Jakarta, which is now neglected, will be revitalized.

Joko revealed that the revitalization plan that has stalled due to COVID-19 has been finalized with Perumda Pasar Jaya as the market manager BUMD.

"Yes, so, it (Blok G Tanah Abang was revitalized). Several times we have discussed, we just have to finalize it," Joko told reporters, Wednesday, September 27.
