BPBD Continues To Distribute Water To Affected Garut Residents Despite The End Of The Drought Emergency Response Period
GARUT - The emergency response period for drought in Garut Regency ends on September 24, 2023. However, BPBD continues to distribute clean water aid to affected residents.
Head of Garut Regency BPBD Badminton Anwar Saefulloh said the local government would continue to help meet the clean water needs of residents in areas experiencing drought during the transition period which lasted until October 31, 2023.
"Our intervention is that one continues to carry out clean water supply related to community needs, and demands or wishes from several regions," he said in Garut, Wednesday, September 27, was confiscated by Antara.
Badminton said that BPBD used the allocation of funds that were still available for handling the impact of drought during the transition period, not proposing the allocation of new budgets.
"Furthermore, we are also evaluating the absorption of the budget, to what extent the absorption of the budget from BTT (unexpected expenditure) has been absorbed so far," he said.

He said that this year's dry season drought occurred 19 out of 42 sub-districts in the Garut Regency area, making it difficult for residents to get clean water.
During the 21-day emergency response period for drought, according to him, 1,175,000 liters of clean water had been distributed to 24,391 families consisting of 85,010 people in 19 sub-districts experiencing drought.
"Our fleet is lacking, we have 10 fleets, and we are still far from needed," he said.
