Kia Niro EV Second Generation Priced At IDR 630 Million In The US Market

JAKARTA - Kia has officially announced its latest price for the 2024 Niro EV which will be available on the United States (US) market. This updated model will be sold at prices ranging from US$40,925 or around Rp. 629.8 million, including shipping costs or only more expensive US$180 or Rp. 2.7 million from last year's model.

The new price is for trim Wind, or the lowest variant, while the top trim trim starts at 45,925 US dollars, or around Rp706.8 million, which also includes shipping costs.

Reporting from InsideEVs, Friday, September 22, this electricity-based subcompact car offers various changes, including the addition of a two-tier cargo floor as a standard to increase its effectiveness.

Niro EV will compete with Hyundai Kona Electric and has a dimensions of 4,420 mm, a width of 1,825 mm, a height of 1,570 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,720 mm. The baggage room has a capacity of 475 liters, which can be increased to 1,392 liters.

One of the unique features in this car is the location of the charging port, which is located at the front right in the middle between the bottom air intake and the closed prior, similar to the Hyundai Kona Electric.

The Wind variant, which is an entry-level version, is equipped with 17-inch alloy rims, automatic LED lighting, automatic wipers, private glass, and a power liftgate.

In the cabin, there is an asymmetric dashboard design that surrounds drivers and passengers, equipped with a curved panel that integrates digital instrument clusters and a 10.25-inch touch-screened infotainment system.

The touch of Kia EV6 is also visible on Niro EV, with a dual touch panel under mid-air ventilation to control climate systems and infotainments supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The Wave variant, which is the highest version, is equipped with more sophisticated headlights, fog lighting, rooftops, electrically regulated rear seats, ventilated front seats, and a wheeled steering wheel.

Kia also shows its commitment to environmental sustainability by using recycled components, such as a headliner made of about 56 percent recycled plastic PET, as well as a seat cover covered with bio skin made from a mixture of vegetable ingredients from eucalyptus trees and artificial skin from polyuretan.

This compact SUV is powered by an electric motor located at the front and is capable of generating up to 201 dk of power with a torque of 255 Nm.

Niro EV is equipped with a battery with a capacity of 64.8 kWh, which provides a distance of up to 460 km. This battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in 49 minutes via DC 80 kW fast charging.

Like other electric cars, the Kia Niro EV variant Wave is equipped with Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) features, which allow vehicles to function as electric resources for electronic devices or other electric cars.
