The Role Of Glenn Fredly, Marthino Lio Was Reminded About His Origin

JAKARTA - DAMN production house! I Love Indonesia and Adhya Pictures announced the latest production of a biopic entitled Glenn Fredly The Movie directed by Lukman Sardi. Glenn Fredly The Movie will tell the story of the life journey of legendary musicians who have contributed a lot to the Indonesian music scene, Glenn Fredly.

In the thanksgiving kick off and cast survey event, Wednesday, September 20, actor Marthino Lio was trusted to play Glenn Fredly. Although it's just the reading script process, for a 34-year-old man he has had his own difficulties.

One of them is learning Ambon, where Glenn Fredly is a pop singer of Ambon descent. Although Lio is also an Ambonese, he admits that he does not understand the Ambon language well.

"Learn Ambon language. I'm Ambon blood, but the big thing is in other places, so if people in Ambon's language 'what does that mean? How come I understand Javanese better, how come I understand Sundanese better,'" said Marthino Lio while in the Kemang area, South Jakarta, Wednesday, September 20.

But when he got to play Glenn Fredly, Lio felt like he was close to his origins. This makes him even more proud of his role as well as Ambon's blood.

"And in a way, feel Glenn Fredly brought me closer to my roots, my roots. So go back to knowing who I really am, where I really came from, and should be proud of that," he explained.
