The First Car With A Chinese-made Chip Was Ordered By More Than 10,000 Units In Ten Days Of Sales
JAKARTA - Geely Lynk & Co's newest plug-in hybrid SUV, Lynk & Co 08, gets more than 10,000 orders in ten days after being officially sold since September 8. Buyers can choose from the five models offered with a price range of 208,800 to 288,000 yuan (around Rp439 million to Rp606 million).
Launching Carnewschina, September 19, this SUV is the first car to use China's domestically made automotive chip that has a 7 nanometer power, known as Dragon Eagle-1, which powers various functions in vehicle operating software (OS).
This OS uses two chips, whose computing power is reportedly equivalent to two Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chips. Posited as an intermediate size SUV, Lynk & Co 08 has dimensions of 4820/1915/1685 mm, with a wheelbase of 2848 mm.
This PHEV was designed based on Lynk & Co's "The Next Day" principles, with prominent elements such as frameless doors and hidden door handles.
The front of the car has a separate front light planted with 32 LEDs and a Grill in the form of a black trapium at the bottom. The back uses a very easy-to-recognizable rear light design, roof spoilers, and a hidden exhaust layout.
The interior of this car is equipped with a fully LCD instrument panel measuring 12.3 inches, a 15.4-inch central control screen, and a 92-inch AR-HUD equipped with the Meizu Flyme Auto operating system. Other configurations include automatic climate control, voice recognition, and ambient lighting. Meanwhile, the high-end Lynk & Co 08 model is also equipped with a level 2 driver assistance system powered by five radars and 10 cameras.
In addition, Harman Kardon's audio system with 23 speakers provides sound effects for various scenarios, including "welcome", "car keys", "light sein", "open door warning", and "low speed warning".

The new car is available in front and four-wheeled driving variants, equipped with a 1.5T hybrid plug-in system.
The front wheel drive version is powered by one motor with an output of 280 KW and a torque of 615 Nm. The four-wheel drive version is equipped with two motors, with a combined system power of 436 kW and a peak torque of 905 Nm, and has an acceleration time of 0 to 100 km/hour for 4.6 seconds.
There are three battery capacities: 21.2 kWh, 39.6 kWh, and 39.8 kWh, which provide a purely electric range of 120/245 km CLTC for front wheels and 220 km for four-wheel drive, as well as a comprehensive range of 1,200 km and 1,400 km with full tanks and full batteries. In addition, this car supports fast charging, and charging from 30% to 80% only takes 28 minutes, according to the manufacturer.
