President Jokowi Is Scheduled To Visit The Merdeka Market Samarinda

SAMARINDA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is scheduled to visit Merdeka Market Samarinda, East Kalimantan on Thursday (21/9) with an agenda for monitoring prices and stocks of basic necessities for the community.

"The information we received was that President Jokowi visited the Merdeka Market on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at around 10:00 or 11.00 WITA," said Head of the Samarinda City Trade Office, Marnabas, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 20.

He said the President's visit would not interfere with the activities of people who were selling or shopping at the Merdeka Market.

"The choice of the Merdeka Market, because the market is quite representative and crowded," he said.

This visit by the President is also to ensure that the stock of basic needs of the community is in a safe condition.

"We hope that this visit from the President can have a positive impact on the community, especially traders and buyers at the Merdeka Market," he said.

His party has made preparations related to the President's visit.

The Samarinda Trade Office has coordinated with the presidential protocol to regulate the route and location of the visit.

In addition, communicate with traders at Merdeka Market to inform them of the President's planned visit.

To traders at Merdeka Market, he asked to maintain cleanliness and market order.

"Traders don't worry or be afraid that they will be disturbed by the arrival of the President. We hope they can welcome the President well and friendlyly," said Marnabas.
