LPS Starts Disbursing Payment Claims For BPR Customers By Indramayu Youth Phase I
The Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) reports that it has paid the claim of guaranteeing customer deposits for phase I of Perumda BPR Karya Remaja Indramayu (BPR KRI), Indramayu Regency, West Java Province starting on September 19, 2023.
It was previously reported that the KRI BPR had revoked its business license by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) on September 12, 2023. Since then, LPS has completed the KRI BPR, which is to verify customer deposit data for payment of claims for bank customer deposits and liquidation.
The Executive Director of Claims and Resolution of Bank LPS Suwandi explained, in phase I, LPS paid the claim of guaranteeing customer deposits amounting to Rp82.77 billion belonging to 23,362 customers who were declared feasible.
"Customers please check information regarding the payment of stage I deposit claims on the LPS website or at the BPR KRI branch office according to the location where the savings account was opened," said Suwandi, Tuesday, September 19.
He continued, the verification process will be completed by LPS in stages no later than 90 working days from the date of revocation of the BPR KRI business license, which is no later than January 19, 2024. The payment is carried out by LPS after determining the results of the gradual verification of the deposit.
Later, the storage customer whose status has been determined as a payable deposit is guaranteed by LPS to be able to apply for payment of his deposits through the Payment Bank appointed by LPS, namely Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) in the Indramayu area.
"We urge customers not to rush into disbursing their savings funds because the payment of deposit guarantee claims will still be served for the next 5 years since the bank is revoked its business license, namely September 11, 2028," added Suwandi.
