Joint Officers Still Struggling To Put Out The Fire On The Jatibarang Semarang TPA, Covering An Area Of 5 Hectares
Joint officers are still trying to extinguish the fire that hit two zones at the Final Disposal Site (TPA) of garbage in Jatibarang, Semarang City, Central Java.
Head of the Semarang City Fire Department, Nurkolis, said the area of the two burned zones reached five hectares.
The two zones are each zone one which is a former waste TPA that is no longer used and a former fertilizer factory zone that is below it.
"Both locations are passive zones, there is no new addition of waste," he said.
The method of extinguishing the fire, he continued, was carried out by combing the edges of the waste TPA.
"Hopefully the wind doesn't blow hard, because the wind is very influential," said Nurkolis.
