Preventing Food Crisis In Indonesia, Jokowi Asks For Solutions From IPB
BOGOR - President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) invites the Academic Senate of the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) to welcome the era of technological disruption by presenting various solutions that can raise the spirit of Indonesian optimism. "Many people say, I am if this is a story about potential challenges ahead, about the crisis, both the energy crisis, the food crisis, the economic crisis, the issue of technological disruption, many say that the President is a namut-tamor only," said Jokowi, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, September 15. He said that the era of technological disruption that brought so quickly changes became a necessity that the Indonesian nation had to face. Including, said Jokowi, the presence of artificial intelligence (AI) which is feared by a number of people is taking over labor matters through the presence of intelligent machines. "So there is no need to worry. If I prefer it, we understand what difficulties we will face in the future. Therefore, we do this, the solution is like this," he said. In the same agenda, IPB Chancellor Arif Satria said that IPB University has transformed to further adapt to changes that occur in the course of the last 60 years. "In the future, IPB has great aspirations to make an impact on the progress of the nation and human life in the world," he said. To achieve that desire, Arif said, IPB has set five big agendas, namely leading the innovation of Indonesia's food and economic transformation through the industrialization of agro maritime 4.0, increasing the role of the trendsetter from the national manager to global soft leader in the field of inclusive and sustainable agrotim.
