Again, BI Governor Perry Warjiyo Elected As Chair Of ACC-BIS For The 2023-2024 Period
JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) informed that Governor Perry Warjiyo was re-elected as Chairman of the Asian Consultative Council - Bank for International Settlements (ACC-BIS).
Head of the BI Communication Department Erwin Haryono explained that the determination was based on the decision of the Board of Directors (Board of Directors) of BIS on September 11, 2023 to extend the term of office of Governor of Bank Indonesia Perry Warjiyo as Chair of ACC-BIS who has served since September 2021 and will end on September 2, 2023.
"As Chair of ACC-BIS, the Governor of Bank Indonesia will play a role in directing ACC-BIS activities in various central banks, such as monetary, macroprudential, and payment systems," he said in a press statement today, Tuesday, September 12.
Erwin revealed that Perry Warjiyo will continue to focus on encouraging the Hong Kong Office BIS as the ACC-BIS secretariat to produce research and policy recommendations on a number of issues that are emerging among central banks in the world.

"Such as strategies in dealing with global economic, financial and geopolitical turmoil to ensure macroeconomic and financial system stability," he said.
In addition, Governor Perry is said to be developing financing sources that can support the world's efforts to tackle climate change (sustainable finance), and principles that need to be a reference in the development of digital money issued by the central bank (Central Bank Digital Currency), including the development of cross-border payment systems.
VOI noted that this result further confirmed Perry Warjiyo in the national and international arenas. Previously, Perry was also elected as the Governor of BI for two terms, namely 2018-2023 and 2023-2028.
