Hyundai Ioniq 5 Becomes The Lead Car Of The 43rd ASEAN Summit In Jakarta
JAKARTA - The recently underway 43rd ASEAN Summit in Jakarta has ended successfully. A number of automotive manufacturers supporting the event have also succeeded in providing environmentally friendly mobility solutions for delegates.
In the context of this international event, electric cars are prepared by various manufacturers as a choice of transportation for delegates from various countries to their destinations.
One of the cars that stole the attention of the country's leaders was the Hyundai Ioniq 5, an electric-powered SUV that has been named by each country engraved on a lead car number plate that acts as a navigation guide in Jakarta, facilitating the operational activities of the delegates. However, Ioniq 5, which is the lead car in this series of events, belongs to the Indonesian government and is not sponsored by the Hyundai Motor Group.
In its official release on Monday, September 11, Hyundai said it provided full support by donating 272 Ioniq 5 units for protocol purposes and emergency situations, as well as 74 Ioniq 6 units which became official vehicles for the delegation pair.

With this step, Hyundai once again answered the Indonesian government's trust in providing environmentally friendly mobility for international events. Previously, this South Korean manufacturer was trusted as a vehicle provider for the G20 Summit in Bali and the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo.
In the previous year, the Indonesian Presidential Security Forces (Paspampres) had purchased a total of 42 units of electric vehicles (EVs), including Ioniq EVs and Ioniq 5, which were used for security and protocol purposes.
During the ASEAN Summit in Jakarta, Hyundai also introduced four models decorated with graffiti art, namely Stargazer X, Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6, and Genesis G80. Each of these cars has been given a charming graffiti design.
The design that adorns these four models aims to promote South Korea as the host of the upcoming World Expo 2030 in Busan. These cars serve as canvases for the art of bright and colorful graffiti, by describing the Gwangan Bridge and its bird, while conveying the message "Busan Read" which emphasizes the readiness of the city to host international events.
This step is also in line with Hyundai's global strategy to become a leader in the electric vehicle development industry, and its role in supporting the ASEAN Summit is significant.
