There Is A Retribution Of Goods Measuring Equipment In Biak Papua, The Regency Government Plans To Remove It Starting In 2024

PAPUA - The Biak Numfor Regency Government (Pemkab) in Papua plans to abolish levies for re-scaling scales or heavy gauges of goods by 2024.

"Starting in 2024, there will be no more levies and re-tribulations after Law Number 1 of 2022 concerning financial relations between the Central Government and the Regional Government," said Assistant Assistant (Plt) of the Biak Regional Secretary Numfor Semuel Rumakeuw in response to the elimination of regional levies in Biak, Sunday, September 10, confiscated by Antara.

He admitted that due to the issuance of Law Number 1 of 2022 concerning Financial Relations between Central and Regional Governments, it also had an impact on districts/cities.

Among the impacts that existed in the regions after the new regulations were issued, he continued, several levies would be removed, one of which was the retribution of tera and re-arrival services.

"With the removal of the re-tribution, it will affect the local revenue of the Biak Numfor Regency Government," he said.

He admitted, legal metrology for managing units of size, measurement methods, and measuring tools concerning technical and regulatory requirements based on laws aimed at protecting the public interest in the truth of measuring tools.

According to him, based on Law No. 23 of 2014 concerning Regional Government and Regulation of the Minister of Trade number 115 of 2018 concerning Regional Metrology Units, which are organized by legal field metrology units and UPTD in the form of tera/retail services and metrological supervision.

Meanwhile, in 2024, he continued, there will also be levies in the field of transportation which so far the contribution of vehicle KIR has been collected.

For levies in the transportation sector, he continued, substitute regional regulations will be prepared regarding traffic control in Biak Numfor Regency.

"Yes, for the time being the rules have been made in one Regional Tax Regulation and Regional Retribution which will take effect nationally on January 4, 2024," said Rumakeuw.

Based on data in 2023, the Biak Numfor Regency Government targets PAD revenues of IDR 25 billion.
