Jazz Player Joey Alexander Who Returns To Bali Holds Concert September 15-16

JAKARTA - Joey Alexander, a jazz pioneer born in Bali who is recognized internationally with global achievements, returns to Bali to appear in the trio concert of the musical "Joey Alexander & Friends" on September 15 and 16.

"Jazz gave hope for the future and I hope that there will always be a stage so that jazz will be more popular. This is the second time I have performed in Bali, previously in Canggu," said Joey, in Kuta-Badung Regency, Bali, Tuesday, quoted by Antara.

Joey Alexander will appear at a concert at Plumeria Grand Ballroom, Padma Resort Legian, Bali. Tickets will be sold online for two nights (15 and 16 September 2023) in Joey's appearance in Bali.

The jazz player who was born in Bali 20 years ago with his expertise has led him to appear and briefly demonstrated his talent at The US White House, in his appearance for President Barack Obama. In addition, it entertains global audiences through live broadcasts from the Lincoln Center.

Joey was the first Indonesian musician to repeatedly reach the Billboard's Top 200 position and was nominated three times at the Grammy Award. Over the past 10 years in the United States, Joey has also managed to record six of his own albums.

At the age of 10, he was invited by Wynton Marsalis, a jazz musician who is also the Artist Director of Jazz at Lincoln Center to appear at the Lincoln Center and also collaborated with the Lincoln Center Orchestra.

Joey was also invited by the Arthur Ashe Foundation to appear at a gala dinner, with Bill Clinton as one of his guests.

Since then Joey has appeared on many international stage stages in various countries, not only in America, but also in Europe.

Joey's work has been globally valued by audiences and fellow musicians, and has managed to attract attention to a number of leading jazz festivals in various parts of the world, ranging from fun, Montreal, Newport, Copenhagen, Montreux, Detroit, Mackinac Island, toori School of Music, from New Orleans to Jakarta.

Joey said he would continue his career in jazz that he had been in since childhood. Jazz has given hope for the future and hopes that there will always be a stage so that jazz will be more popular.

Regarding his upcoming appearance at Padma Resort Legian, Joey Alexander said traveling around the world to appear in front of many people had been a blessing.

"But there is a special feeling to have the opportunity to appear and be greeted at my birthplace, namely Bali, it is very fun. I am very enthusiastic to present original and popular songs from my previous albums to music lovers, in Bali. See you at Padma Resort Legian," he said.

To watch this Padma Musical Concert, the audience can buy tickets that are available starting from a price of IDR 300,000 net / per person. Purchases with student ID cards will get a 50 percent discount. Meanwhile, ticket purchases before September 1, 2023 will get a discount of 10 percent.
