KPK Finds 23 Thousand ASN Registered As Social Assistance Recipients

The KPK found 23,800 state civil servants (ASN) registered as recipients of social assistance (bansos) from the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos).

This was revealed when the KPK and the Ministry of Social Affairs cross-matched the population identification number (NIK) and integrated social welfare data (DTKS) with data from the National Civil Service Agency (BKN).

"We matched the data with BKN, we want to see who the ASN indicated. It turns out that we found around 23,800 (social assistance recipients) have a job as ASN," said the Director of Prevention and Monitoring of the KPK Pahala Nainggolan, Tuesday, September 5.

Pahala said the findings would then be coordinated with local governments in accordance with the domicile of ASN registered as recipients of social assistance for immediate repairs.

"Today we invite all regional (government), we return this data, please fix it, we give it a month. Fix it, it means that it is issued, first checked in the field, maybe our data is also wrong, but checked in the field if it is true that it is an ASN, it can be exchanged for other prospective recipients," he said.

The former auditor of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) also reminded local government officials not to force the inclusion of prospective social assistance recipients who do not meet the criteria.

"Even if there are no prospective recipients who meet the requirements, don't force them, because they will be rejected later," said Pahala.

Pahala then revealed that the overall value of the social assistance that was not on target reached around Rp140 billion per month and his party together with the Ministry of Social Affairs are still waiting for a report from the local government to verify the findings of the KPK and the Ministry of Social Affairs.

Then in January 2023, the Financial Audit Agency (BPK) also found that 10,249 families of beneficiaries of social assistance were not on target. In fact, some of them are registered as officials or administrators of a number of companies.

"For ASN and those who receive wages, we estimate that we are actually not on target. Regarding whether or not we will wait a month from the regions, is it true that what we call this is not right," he said.

Pahala also said that the public can also participate in ensuring that the recipients of social assistance are people who really have the right to go through online rebuttal mechanisms at Cekbansos.kemensos.go.id

"Anyone proposes that it is permissible, proposes themselves, but it is also permissible for neighbors and that is a rebuttal mechanism," said Pahala.
