Minister Of Health: Health Investment The Main Supporter Of The ASEAN Economy

Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin said investment in the health sector was the main supporter of economic development in the ASEAN region.

"There are two important aspects of health investment that have the potential to shape the future, not only for Indonesia, but also for all ASEAN regions," said Budi Gunadi Sadikin in a statement quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 5.

The first aspect, said Budi, is in the form of emphasizing the importance of health investment for the public in welcoming Indonesia's demographic bonuses.

According to Budi, massive investment in the health sector can increase productivity and encourage the growth of gross domestic products (GDP) to its peak.

"In the long term, this will create a positive domino effect by increasing income for investors and industry," he said.

Budi believes that failure to take advantage of the great opportunity for a demographic bonus can result in Indonesia continuing to be at the status of a middle-income country.

"For this reason, public awareness to invest in the health of yourself, your family, and the community will have a significant impact on the nation's economy," said Budi.

The second aspect, said Budi, is the emphasis on investing in the health sector and identifying it as a potential turning point for scientific innovation for the development of human civilization.

"Indonesia is an attractive investment destination, by referring to the continued population growth that promises great opportunities in the health sector," he said.

The Minister of Health said the growth was related to increasing health spending to creating a conducive environment for investors.

Budi also conveyed Indonesia's firm commitment to advancing public health and investing it in the health sector as a driver of national and global economic growth.
