Anies Surprised That Handwriting About AHY's Invitation To Become A Vice Presidential Candidate Was Spread, This Is The Story Behind It
JAKARTA - Anies Baswedan will confirm his handwriting regarding the invitation to cooperate with the Democratic Chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) as vice presidential candidate. But Anies emphasized that the writing was an option that he submitted to the coalition, not yet a final decision.
"On Friday, the 8th team envoy came, conveying that the Democratic envoy might be withdrawn because the task that was carried out to them was not carried out. What can be done? They asked that it was true that Anies conveyed the choice was AHY," Anies said in an exclusive interview with Anies-Muhaimin in Mata Najwa, quoted from Najwa Shihab's Youtube channel, Monday, September 4.
"They (Democratic decisions) are impossible to bring me in, they asked for something written to be shown. In that situation, I asked for a book with a line paper, I wrote it now. If it is prepared, typed neatly as an official letter. I have written it, just this is given to the Democratic envoy to state this is true, Mr. Anies said. (Paper) shown to Mr. AHY read and brought again, stored. Mr. Sudirman. This is not a letter to be shown. No photo shoot, we were also surprised how come there are photos because there is no photo shoot, "said Anies.
Najwa Shihab then quoted Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY)'s statement, which basically Anies had already spoken about the declaration of vice-presidential and vice-presidential candidates in early September. The vice presidential candidate in question is AHY.
"I'm very sorry, I'm very sorry, there was no mention of names in the meeting at all, there was no name conversation. I'm very sorry. It is true that it was stated that before the 3rd it was stated that the reason for the campaign needed time, it was not enough if the time was tight," said Anies.
Anies emphasized that he could not decide on the nominations for presidential and vice-presidential candidates, because the authority was in the chairman of the coalition political parties. But Anies did propose the name AHY as an option, although NasDem asked not to rush into decisions while looking for other best choices.

"I submitted the option, I worked on that option, the option available is AHY, there was a deadlock on Tuesday afternoon, that night I was on my way to the dead end meeting. I got a call from the NasDem office and asked to the NasDem office to meet Pak Surya Paloh," said Anies.
That's where the conversation took place about the name Muhaimin Iskandar alias Cak Imin. After the meeting, Anies tried to find time to meet representatives of Democrats and PKS, but only PKS then had a meeting.
"Then PKS responded and we met PKS, PKS stated that we were happy because there was a new party in the coalition, but procedurally we didn't like it because NasDem decided alone. Democrats can't meet," said Anies.
