Projected 3 Kg Solar And Elpiji Quota Broken, Pertamina Boss Ensures Supply Is Safe And Available
JAKARTA - President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Nicke Widyawati projects that the oil fuel quota (BBM) type Solar and Elpiji 3 kilograms (kg) will exceed the prepared quota.
Solar is predicted to experience an overquate of 2 million KL from the previous 16 million KL so that the total quota by the end of the year is 18 million KL.
Meanwhile, 3 kg of LPG will experience an advantage from the initial quota of 8 million KL to 8.28 KL.
"This trend is increasing. With improving economic growth, the impact is that the bbm subsidies and LPG demand are creeping up," Nicke said at the Coordination Meeting for Year's Inflation Control with the Ministry of Home Affairs, Monday, September 4.
However, Nicke ensured that Pertamina would still ensure that LPG and diesel stocks and supplies were safe and would continue to be available.
This is intended so that the prices of diesel and LPG in circulation do not increase drastically and scarcity can be avoided.
"In a situation like this, we really maintain the existing supply even though it exceeds the quota, we make sure the stock is there," explained Nicke.
Nicke explained that currently his party has not been able to impose restrictions on subsidized fuel.

This is because there are rules in Presidential Decree 191 of 2014 that still have to be detailed.
"We also understand that in a political situation like this, limiting or regulating, of course there is a political risk, so we try to control it with existing regulations, namely the gas station digitization system," he explained.
Pertamina, continued Nicke, has digitized gas stations to monitor the distribution and sale of fuel transactions in real time.
Meanwhile, for LPG 3 kg, the government and Pertamina have reviewed customer data using ID cards at each existing gas base.
It is certain that this rule will take effect on January 1, 2024.
