Firefighters Spend 10 Thousand Liters Of Water To Spray Roads To Overcome Air Pollution

JAKARTA - The East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) has again sprayed with water on a number of roads to overcome air pollution in the capital city.

The road spraying routes range from Jalan H Ten, Rawamangun to Jalan Pulomas Raya, Kayu Putih Village, Pulogadung District, East Jakarta, Sunday.

"The water supply on the right and left as an effort to reduce air pollution in Jakarta," said Head of the Operations Section of the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. Gatot Sulaeman, quoting Antara, Sunday, September 3.

Gulkarmat East Jakarta uses a fire engine with a capacity of 10 thousand liters of water to spray on Jalan H Ten, Rawamangun to Pulomas Raya, Pulogadung.

"This activity is an instruction from the head of the DKI Gulkarmat Service to water the protocol roads," said Gatot.

The watering of the road, he said, was in order to control air pollution in DKI Jakarta.

The implementation of road watering using water is in accordance with the orange and red indicators (unhealthy air quality) seen in the IQAir application.

"The direction of the head of the service is for all sector heads to download IQAir to find out the quality of the air. If the air is not healthy, it will be sprayed twice," said Gatot.
