Lapak Kayu And Bambu In Manggarai Burnt, Owner Experienced A Loss Of IDR 50 Million

JAKARTA - Piles of wood and bamboo on Jalan Manggarai Selatan 1, RT 10/01, Manggarai Village, Tebet District, South Jakarta, were burned down. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, September 3.

"The cause of the fire from an electrical short then grabbed into a pile of wood and bamboo," wrote Tebet sub-sector I section Head, Sukur Sarwono in a written statement received by VOI, Sunday, September 3.

According to witness testimony to officers, the fire started with an electrical short and then spread to the bamboo sales stall.

"When Mrs. Tatik was cooking in the kitchen, she saw the electricity spread to the wood and bamboo stalls. Then residents reported to the Fire Department," he said.

The fire in a number of selling points for wood and bamboo began to be extinguished at 05.35 WIB. The fire was successfully extinguished by 8 units with 50 officers.

"Objek terbakar lapak kayu dan bamboo. Area terbakar seluas 4 meter x 15 meter. Total kerugian mencapai Rp50 juta. Tidak ada korban jiwa maupun luka," ujarnya.
