Support NFT Creator, Adidas Launches Digital Artist Residence Program

JAKARTA - Adidas / / / Studio, also known as Three Stripes Studio, has announced the launch of Residency by Adidas, a global digital artist recognition program. The program will highlight artists from around the world and will start in September during Korea Blockchain Week in Seoul.

In their first digital art sales, a work of artists using the pseudonyms mediateMoto and Adra Kandil, also known as Dear Nostalgia will be displayed. These sales will include printing or minting works of art in the form of NFTs with limited editions and open editions.

ThanksMoto, based in Tokyo, is famous for its game development and design of its digital concept, while Adra Kandil, an artist from Lebanon, created works of art that combines photography, collage, typography, and digital montage. Previously, Kandil had collaborated with well-known brands such as Gucci, Chanel, Cartier, and Roberto Cavalli.

The goal of Residency by Adidas is to support and advance creative talent in the digital world. This program provides opportunities for these artists to showcase their work and collaborate with Adidas, not only digitally, but also on physical products.

According to Stacey King, Head of Global Communication and activation for Adidas/// Studio, the project is a step forward in Adidas' exploration of the Web3 community. The Adidas team had previously released NFTs in connected clothing and introduced NFT artwork at various events in Berlin and New York City.

In limited edition NFT sales, there will be only 100 works per artist at a price of 0.15 ETH (approximately USD 250 or IDR 3.8 million) per item. This work will only be available for event participants in Seoul and will be accompanied by an exclusive physical hoodie.

Meanwhile, open edition NFT sales for each artist will be valued at 0.03 ETH (approximately 50 US dollars or IDR 761 thousand) and can be purchased by anyone over a specified period of time. Both sales will start on September 6 and last until September 11.

King also revealed that various types of NFT projects, whether digital, physical, or connected, will continue in line with Adidas' ongoing ALTS Ethereum NFT initiative. Recently, Adidas teamed up with BAPE to launch limited edition connected sneakers equipped with digital twins.
