Drawing Jamu Persib, Persija's Change Room Feels Like A Defeat
JAKARTA - Persija Jakarta coach Thomas Doll leaked his team's changing room after a draw against Persib Bandung which felt like they had just lost.
Persija had to settle for bringing home one point after drawing 1-1 with Persib in Week 11 of Liga 1 Indonesia 2023/2024 at Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium, Bekasi, Saturday, September 2 evening.
"The atmosphere in our dressing room seemed to have lost. All the players really felt disappointed," said the German tactician after the match.
In the match against this arch-enemy, Persija actually took the lead in the first half through a goal scored by Marko Simic.
However, this advantage collapsed during normal time, the match was left five minutes thanks to David da Silva's goal.
Persib scored the equalizer goal when the Kemayoran Tigers had played with ten players due to Hanif Sjahbandi receiving a red card.
Thomas said playing with ten players was definitely not easy for his team. He said he was confident he could secure a full number if it remained with eleven players until the game was over.
"We finished the game with only ten players. If we stay with eleven players until the game is over, I believe we can secure the victory," he said.
