Once Again, The Government Is Asked To Be More Firm In Stopping Online Gambling That Makes Many People Prestige
JAKARTA - Commission III of the DPR asks for the Government's commitment to stop online gambling which is increasingly troubling. Starting from law enforcement to the perpetrators involved, to blocking online gambling sites by the relevant ministries.
"The government through its authority must be firm to block, close and take firm action to turn off access and websites, as well as all online gambling networks," said member of Commission III of the DPR RI, Didik Mukrianto, Friday, September 1.
Recently, Bareskrim Polri arrested 31 suspects suspected of being the manager of the website in the alleged online gambling case based in the Denpasar area, Bali. Meanwhile, according to data from the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK), the number of online gambling transactions in Indonesia will reach IDR 155 trillion in 2022.
Didik hopes that the police will continue to investigate until the entire online gambling network is exposed. Because the expansion of online gambling networks makes people more vulnerable to being tempted by the thought of getting money in an instant and easy way.
"Yang juga tidak kalah utama penegak hukum harus lebih masif lagi untuk melakukan pemberantasan judi online secara masif dan berkelanjutan. Jangan ragu-ragu untuk menangkap dan memproses hukum para dealer, agent, pelaku, influencer dan juga para beking-bekingkan judi online ini," tegas Didik.
This member of the Banggar DPR RI assesses that the proliferation of various online gambling websites makes it easier for the public to carry out gambling activities. In fact, said Didik, the online gambling phenomenon has ensnared various groups of people, ranging from workers in various arrangements, students/students, to husbands as heads of families and housewives.

"The online gambling phenomenon is growing and damaging the most basic aspects of life and the victims are expanding to the level of grass roots, and the damage is very real, quite massive and has a multi-sector dimensionality of life," he said.
The impact of online gambling does affect the multi-sectors of life. The phenomenon that occurs a lot is how the proliferation of online gamblers also affects the increase in online loans. Didik said, not a few young people with good educational backgrounds but also experience online gambling fever and end up being involved in online loans (Pinjol) in order to play.
"Actually, this is one of the backfires of the development of digital technology. Starting from curiosity, eventually becoming addicted and they have difficulty getting out of the snares of online gambling demons and borrowing. This social impact is very significant because it will affect their lives and their families," said the legislator from the East Java IX electoral district.
Didik also gave an example of the many viral stories due to online gambling. Like a recent post by a wife who admitted that she chose to divorce her husband because he was not strong with her husband's online gambling habits to make their homes and various assets run out and are entangled in many loans. Online gambling habits also have a lot of influence on someone's psycho-social.
And stories like that have happened a lot. We hear a lot of sad stories about families suffering from online gambling. Not to mention the emergence of the suffering of mothers, wives or children if online gambling players are arrested by the police. So the impact of online gambling is not playing games," said Didik.
