Riau Police Name 2 Suspects For Explosion Of PT KPI RU II Dumai
The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the Riau Regional Police named two contractors with the initials IR and W as suspects in the explosion incident at PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) Regional Unit II Dumai on April 1.
Director of the Direskrimum of the Riau Police, Kombes Asep Darmawan, said that his party had made a summons to both of them for information.
"We have called them. Their position is to carry out demolition work in areas that are suspected of leaking and exploding," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, September 1.
The two suspects served in the field of "thickness" examination or pipe thickness. However, Asep said that it was possible that a new suspect would emerge in the explosion that caused the commotion.
"It can still grow. Meanwhile, the two suspects. Later, from the results of coordination with the prosecutor, if it develops, there may be other suspects," he said.
Previously, it was known that there was a loud bang accompanied by strong vibrations coming from the seven Pertamina RU II Dumai Women's Oil Refinery. The explosion and fire left five workers injured.
