ID FOOD: Realization Of Stunting Prevention Assistance Reaches 95 Percent

JAKARTA - Food SOE Holding ID FOOD ensures that it continues to run the Government Food Assistance program for Stunting Handling. As of August 30, 2023, 95 percent or 4.1 million aid packages have been realized, from the target of a total of 4.3 million aid packages which are divided into 3 stages.

President Director of ID FOOD Frans Marganda Tambunan in his statement Thursday, August 31, said that stunting prevention assistance in the form of eggs and chicken meat had been running in the provinces of Banten, West Java, Central Java, East Java, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), West Sulawesi, and North Sumatra.

"Phase 1 has been completed 100 percent. We have accelerated stages 2 and 3 in parallel. We have reached 93 percent each," said Frans.

According to him, ID FOOD through its three subsidiaries Berdikari, Rajawali Nusindo, Indonesia's Trade Center and supported by PT Pos Indonesia as a hand in hand to make the Government Food Assistance Program a success for Handling Stunting.

"ID FOOD is determined to accelerate the process of distributing aid to the community," he said.

The acceleration effort was also carried out by adding cooperative partners for local chicken breeders as egg suppliers and chicken meat. Currently, there are dozens of cooperative partners who supply safe and quality products, according to the standards set by the National Food Agency (NFA).

The involvement of local chicken breeders is also in line with the purpose of Holding Food SOEs, namely realizing the inclusiveness of small independent breeders.

"From the start, this program only involves local chicken breeders and not large companies, because this program also aims to empower local breeders. It is hoped that through this program the production of farmers can be absorbed at a good price, thus keeping egg prices at the farmer level as well as encouraging farmers to continue to be enthusiastic about producing," said Frans.

Meanwhile, Head of the National Food Agency (NFA) Arief Prasetyo Adi said that stunting food assistance in the form of eggs and chicken meat will continue to be disbursed until the total distribution reaches 4.3 million aid packages.

"This program is indeed prepared to meet the nutritional needs of 1.4 million KRS in 3 distribution stages so that we will distribute a total of 4.3 million stunting assistance packages through ID FOOD in collaboration with Pos Indonesia," he said.

President Director of PT Pos Indonesia Faizal Rochmad Djoemadi said that his party has a very important role in the Stunting Food Assistance Program. PT Pos Indonesia was appointed as the transporter for the distribution of food aid based on the Cooperation Agreement with ID FOOD.

Faizal said, for distribution of 3T, PT Pos Indonesia as a transporter to maintain quality must calculate carefully and consider several factors including ship schedules, commodity quality (lays and chickens) during the trip, distance from the delivery location and distribution plan at the handover point.

"All these factors must be balanced so that the handover to the KRS can run well. In principle, in carrying out the distribution of government assistance for stunting handling, PT Pos adheres to 3T principles as well, namely Right Channel, Right Quantity and Right Quality," he said.
