BYD Soon To Launch Mercedes-Benz EQS Competition

JAKARTA - The YangWang NEV BYD sedan, which is said to be a rival to Mercedes-Benz EQS, recently appeared in patent images in China. This luxury car follows the design that characterizes the brand.

According to rumors, it was reported that Carnewschina, August 31, the YangWang sedan will be equipped with four electric motors that produce a total power of 1,180 dk.

For those who don't know, YangWang is a luxury electric car brand under BYD launched in early 2023. In April, its first SUV, YangWang U8, started pre-sales in China at an initial price of 1,096,000 yuan (around Rp. 2.4 billion).

YangWang plans to launch BYD YangWang NEV this year along with U9 electric sports cars.

JIka was observed by patent images circulating from the YangWang sedan of many netizens in China saying that this car has a lot in common with BYD Seal EV and BYD Seal DM-i.

The similarities between the YangWang sedan and the Seal line include a bonnet line that tends to be curved, a sleek roof, a low waist line, and a side mirror. The general proportion of this YangWang sedan remains very similar to the Seal DM-i.

However, this new car has its own design features. First of all, the front has a typical YangWang headlights which are also owned by U9 sports cars. They look like forks.

Previously, YangWang received some criticism for this forward light design. However, they decided to keep this style feature. Under the headlights, you can see a large airflow through the bumper. The need for strong airflow hints that this YangWang sedan could be a PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) or EREV (Extended-Range Electric Vehicle). However, this information has not been confirmed.

Another feature of this YangWang sedan includes a pullable door handle, real side mirrors, a LiDAR sensor on the roof, and a large rooftop. On the back, you can see an active spoiler, aggressive air diffuser, and a single rear light unit. And another detail of the YangWang sedan is the five-stop rim.
