DPRD Asks Central Government To Realize Cianjur Toll Road
The Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) of Cianjur Regency, West Java asked the central government to immediately realize the construction of the Cianjur toll road as an effort to recover the economy and increase tourist visits to this area.
Secretary of Commission I of the Cianjur DPRD Isnaeni said that so far a number of solutions to overcome severe congestion on the Puncak route had been rolled out, including building the Puncak II route and widening the main Puncak route, but had not yet materialized.
"We ask that the construction of the Cianjur toll road can be realized immediately, because it is not only on weekends when the Puncak route is always jammed, so the presence of freeways will be a breath of fresh economic recovery in Cianjur," he said.
His party will ask the local government and representatives of the people who sit in the DPR RI for the Cianjur Election, together to oversee until the realization of the Bogor-Cianjur Toll Road, so that the wheels of the economy in the area are no longer stuck due to traffic jams.
The reason, said Isnaeni, so far there has been no solution to overcome traffic jams on the Puncak route which makes tourists take up to hours to get to Cianjur, including business actors who lose their income because they are late in delivering orders.
"So far, we have encouraged the central, provincial and district governments to build the Puncak II route as the only solution but are constrained by land acquisition, hopefully there will be no more obstacles in the construction of toll roads," he said.
Cianjur Regent Herman Suherman said the central government's plan to immediately build two toll roads to Cianjur could be realized, not just a plan like the Puncak II route which has not yet been realized.
"We hope that it will be realized soon so that the Cianjur economy will recover, because the existence of this toll road will be a solution to congestion on the Puncak route, especially on weekends, so that tourists find it difficult to get to Cianjur," he said.
