Mercedes-Benz Will Open Its Own Charging Network This October
To accelerate the growth of electric vehicles worldwide, Mercedes-Benz announced its plans to open high charging services this fall, which will operate in various countries.
Starting October, the first charging station named "Mercedes-Benz Charging Hubs" will operate in three cities in different countries, namely Atlanta (US), Chengdu (China), and Mannheim (Germany).
Mercedes-Benz Mobility AG CEO Franz Reiner explained that by creating adequate infrastructure for electric vehicles, they can facilitate the shift to neutral carbon mobility, while providing convenience to electric vehicle users.
"We want to encourage our customers to switch to zero-emission vehicles and thus make a positive contribution in protecting our environment," Reiner said in the company's media space, Monday, August 28.
This charging station promises fast, convenient, and sustainable charging capabilities. This facility will provide up to 400 kW of charging support such as CCS1, CCS2, NACS, and GB/T.
Mercedes-Benz claims that this intelligent charging management will allow every vehicle to charge at its maximum level, increase efficiency and reduce charging time.
Similar to other charging stations, Mercedes-Benz Charging Hubs will be compatible with various electric vehicles from other brands. However, Mercedes customers will be privileged to make bookings at charging points they have ordered through the Mercedes-Benz me Charge service, reducing waiting times.
The Mercedes-Benz charging network will be seamlessly integrated and will complement more than 1.3 million charging points that already exist around the world.

The German manufacturer also has plans to expand its charging network to 2,000 by the end of 2024. As a long-term step, Mercedes will provide more than 10,000 charging stations by the end of the decade.
With this charging network, Mercedes-Benz will carve out new standards for electric vehicle infrastructure, providing a convenient charging experience with high speed, safety, and environmental care levels.
