Porsche Releases Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid, The Strongest Cayenne of All Time

JAKARTA - Porsche has made another breakthrough by introducing the strongest model in the Cayenne line, namely the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid.

After successfully launching the new Cayenne in early 2023, today, August 29, Porsche introduced the 2024 Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid.

As before, the new Cayenne is a plug-in hybrid but Porsche has improved the technology, range of electric motors and performance.

It is known that the previous model, the Turbo S E-Hybrid has 670 hp power and 898 Nm of torque but this latest Turbo E-Hybrid has an electric motor with a power of 130 kW (176 hp) complementing the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine which produces 441 kW (599 hp) et al). Together, the two combined produce a power of 544 kW (739dk) and a maximum torque of 950 Nm.

In the company's media space, August 29, Porsche claims that this latest version can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 295 km/h. Meanwhile, the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid Coupe with the GT Package can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 305 km/h.

The Cayenne's weight increases due to the larger battery, with a capacity of 25.9 kWh (compared to 14.1 kWh in the previous model). The previous model could cover up to 17 km on a single charge but this latest one has a further electric range of up to 82 km. And despite the increased battery capacity, the new 11 kW internal charger cuts charging time to under two and a half hours.

Both the exterior and interior have been updated including the unique front fascia, which features a larger air inlet. Porsche painted the wheel arches and lower rear fascia in body color. Red brake calipers and two aluminum-coated dual exhaust outlets complete the E-Hybrid's visual upgrades. And it also has new LED headlamps HD-Matrix Design.

The GT package stands out even more with a custom front end with black accents, black wheel arch extensions, carbon side plates on the roof spoiler, centrally positioned titanium Turbo GT exhaust pipes, and a carbon rear diffuser. The roof is also made of lightweight carbon fiber.

The Cayenne's interior remains largely the same, with more aluminum accents and a roof made of Race-Tex, Porsche's version of Alcantara.

The 2024 Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid is offered at a starting price of 176,324 euros or IDR 2.91 billion in Germany, including VAT and the Coupe version starts at 179,775 euros or IDR 2.97 billion. Meanwhile, the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid with the GT package is offered from 208,454 euros or IDR 3.4 billion.
