Nissan Seriously Launches 19 New Electric Cars Until 2030 Including Presenting The Latest Leaf
JAKARTA - In Nissan's annual dealers' conference in Las Vegas, earlier this Sunday, the Japanese automotive company announced plans to release 27 vehicles by 2030, 19 of which are battery-powered models. This ambitious plan will include products from the Nissan and Infinity brands.
As part of Nissan's presentation at the event, quoted from Automotive News, August 24, more than 3,000 executives present were shown three new electric cars which are expected to debut in the next seven years. The three models include a replacement crossover coup of the Leaf EV, a performance sedan that can replace the current gasoline-fueled Maxima, as well as a battery-powered crossover based on the CMF-EV platform also used by the ARYa crossover and the Renault Megane E-Tech hatchback in Europe.
The next generation of the Nissan Leaf is rumored to have a range of about 25 percent further than the current model, while maintaining a look similar to "mini-Ariya". Currently, the Leaf has a maximum range of about 342 km with a 60 kWH battery, meaning the next generation model can have up to 427 km of range with one full charge.
Meanwhile, regarding the other sedan models, details are still not available, but Nissan plans to produce two of these types of electric cars at its factory in Mississippi by 2026, one with the Nissan brand and the other will be sold as Infinity.
In addition, Nissan's e-Power series hybrid technology will also be present in the United States, with the first model to adopt it being a Rogue crossover to be designed and scheduled for release in the second half of 2026. Currently, Nissan has not sold hybrid cars in the United States, although this technology has been available in Japan since 2016. This technology uses battery-powered electric motors to power wheels and gasoline engines to recharge batteries.
