During The ASEAN Summit, Goods Transport Is Prohibited From Crossing These 4 Toll Roads
JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya will implement traffic engineering during the implementation of the 43rd ASEAN Summit (KTT). One of them is restrictions on goods transport vehicles on four toll roads.
"There are 4 toll roads that are subject to restrictions on freight transportation, namely the Cawang-Tomang-Pluit Toll Road, the Tomang-Pluit Toll Road, the Kembangan-Tomang Toll Road, and the Prof. Dr. Soedijatmo (Pluit-Kamal Muara) Toll Road," said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Latif Usman in his statement, Friday, August 25.
Restrictions on goods transport vehicles will begin to be implemented on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 00.00 WIB until Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 24.00 WIB.
In its implementation, there are several goods transport vehicles that are utilized, such as fuel oil (BBM) carriers or gas fuel (BBG), livestock, postal delivery and money, basic food consisting of basic necessities, bottled drinking water, and animal feed.
The decision to implement the scheme, said Latif, was based on the results of coordination with the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPTJ).
"In the near future, regulations will be issued or SE from BPJT," said Latif.
Previously, the DKI Provincial Government and the Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya also planned a number of adjustments to activities in Jakarta during the ASEAN Summit, the series starting from September 2 to 7, 2023.
To minimize congestion in Jakarta, 50 percent of ASN in the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government do not serve the community directly in carrying out work from home (WFH). Private companies are also advised to adjust the work mechanism of their employees.
Later, there will be situational traffic engineering on 29 roads during the ASEAN 43rd Summit series. This road section is a route that is closed when the state delegation travels to the location of the activity. Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, said that road closures can be carried out for 2 hours.
"There are 29 roads that will be traffic engineering. On the way from the delegation to the location of the activity, this closure can be up to 2 hours. For example, the delegation will depart at 7.00, then at 6.30 to 08.30 there will be road closures," said Syafrin.
Especially on September 6, 2023, the closure was also carried out on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman in both directions from the Youth Statue Building Segment to the Semanggi Interchange. The closure of this road takes effect from 18.00 to 22.00 WIB.
The location for the destination for the delegation during the series of Asean Summit activities at ST Regis on Saturday-Sunday (2-3 September), at the Asean Secretariat on Saturday-Monday (2-4 September), JCC on Tuesday-Wednesday (5-6 September), GBK Courtyarding Park on Wednesday (6 September), and Sultan-State Hotel on Tuesday-Thursday (5-7 September).
