Donald Trump Suddenly Appears on X and Asks for Donations
JAKARTA - Former United States President Donald J. Trump has suddenly returned to platform X, formerly known as Twitter, with a photo of his detention.
In addition, Trump, who was previously banned from using Twitter for inciting his supporters to attack the US parliament building, also embedded a link that will take you to a page to make a donation.
"Today, at the notorious prison in Fulton County, Georgia, I was ARRESTED despite having committed NO CRIME," Trump wrote in a note that appeared on the website.
Trump's photo post that read "Election Interrupted! Never give up!" it has also amassed over 80 million views 50 minutes after airing on Friday, August 25 at around 08:38 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB).
Trump has relied on Twitter for years to attack opponents, rally supporters and issue policy directives. Twitter permanently suspended Trump's account in January 2021, to prevent the risk of further incitement to violence.
After the ban from Twitter, he started his own social network, namely Truth Social. Truth Social has been Trump's main source of direct communication with his followers since he began posting on the app regularly in May.

Trump is currently campaigning to run as the Republican Party's presidential candidate. On Wednesday, Aug. 23, Trump also shared his interview with Tucker Carlson, former Fox News host on X.
The 46-minute interview with the conservative commentator attracted more than 74 million views, according to statistics on the platform formerly known as Twitter.
