Breaking The Limit, Ganjar Pranowo Uncovers The Key Role Of Women's Politics In The National Women's Congress

The Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, enthusiastically attended the National Women's Congress which was held at the Prof. Sudharto Building, Diponegoro University (Undip), Semarang, on Thursday, August 24.

In the event, Ganjar highlighted the importance of women's participation in crucial decisions, including their role in politics and public position. As a form of gender equality and representation, Ganjar expressed his belief that women must participate in every aspect of life, both in the executive and legislative realm.

"There are many aspects in the context of democracy related to the political role of women, both in executive and legislative positions. This is very important," said Ganjar after giving a speech in front of participants from various regions.

The importance of women's voices is recognized as a real representation of their voting rights in people's lives. Ganjar Pranowo emphasized that women need to be a pioneer in fighting for their rights in various policies.

"Through this representation, the decisions taken can always consider the perspective of women. With the representative women who support it, it is hoped that public policies will truly represent their interests," he explained.

Ganjar gave a clear example by mentioning several public policy issues that have a direct impact on women, such as AKI-AKB, domestic violence, stunting, and attention to environmental issues.

"The issues of the environment, stunting, and reproductive rights are the concern of many women. On this occasion, recommendations for these things became very relevant," added Ganjar.

In addition, Ganjar took inspiration from the story of the struggle of a great woman from the past, Potjut Meurah Intan. The portrait of Meurah Intan is a formidable fighter from Aceh whose grave is in Blora, Central Java. He is a hero who is persistent against Dutch colonialism from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century.

Ganjar explained that despite being seriously injured when he was caught in November 1902, Potjut Meurah Intan remained strong in his struggle. He was imprisoned and exiled to Blora, where he finally died. His tomb in Blora is now well guarded as a tribute to his dedication.

With a spirit like Potjut Meurah Intan as inspiration, Ganjar Pranowo encourages women to continue to fight for their rights and representations in politics and the public sphere.
