TikTok Embeds Ads Alongside User's Organic Search Results
JAKARTA - TikTok is back indulging its advertisers, now ads will appear next to organic search results when users search for something.
Later, ads will appear based on relevance and according to user searches so that their placement will not be completely random. This feature was previously owned by Instagram.
"Ads are automatically generated using content from existing advertisers. These ads are labeled as "Sponsored" content and appear in various positions on the results page based on relevance, user intent and broader learning from other user behavior," TikTok said in its announcement, Wednesday, August 23.
The company claims, its platform as a search destination, which is a great opportunity for brands to reach and connect with new customers.
According to a study, 58 percent of TikTok users are able to discover new brands and products on the platform, 1.5x more than users of other platforms.

"This provides a unique opportunity to offer our users rich and relevant information and experiences. Users can search TikTok to find new content, revisit old content, or search for the latest trending items or ideas," TikTok said.
To find this new feature, users can click on the search button at the top of the For You tab feed. Then type a search query, which will then return a series of search results.
Ads will appear among the search results. Once a user clicks on a search ad, the ad reflects the TikTok experience in the feed, and the user can continue to scroll through the search results in the order they appear on the page.
