Asking To Disband The KPK, PDIP: It's Twisted, Megawati Only Highlights Corruption Is Still A Problem
JAKARTA - Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto assessed that the statement by PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri asked the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to be disbanded was not as intended. He said, the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia actually highlighted the practice of rasuah which is still a problem in the country. "That was twisted. In fact, Megawati called Hasto actually wanted the KPK to be permanent. Because, this institution was only an ad hoc or disbanded at any time. Even so, Megawati advised that the eradication of corruption could run effectively. "There must be a serious effort, the commitment of the national leader and the nation's children to prevent corruption," said Hasto. Previously reported, Megawati said that she had asked President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) directly to dissolve the KPK. Because corrupt practices still occur even though the institution existed. "I sometimes said to Mr. Jokowi, 'if, dissolve the KPK, sir. I think it is not effective'," he said in The Tribrata, Jakarta.
