The Joint Team For Overcoming Forest And Land Fires Near Settlements In Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan
Joint personnel from BPBD, TNI, Polri and volunteers are overcoming forest and land fires (Kahutla) that are approaching settlements in the Pesona Bhayangkara Trikora complex, Banjarbaru City, South Kalimantan.
The Head of the Banjarbaru Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Zaini said the personnel and equipment of the Fire Brigade (BPK) moved to the location of the fire.
"Information on land fires entered at around 19.18 WITA so that personnel and fleets immediately followed up on them arriving at the location at around 19:40 WITA," said Zaini, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 21.
Zaini said the fleet that was deployed was a pick-up unit, a rescue unit and a watersupply unit of 5,000 liters to extinguish the flames that approached the residents' houses.
Zaini said that BPK personnel jumped into the fire location not far from the family recreational facility known as the aquatic vehicle in the Pesona Bhayangkara Complex, Guntung Manggis.
According to Zaini, firefighters had difficulty dealing with the blaze because there were minimal water sources around the location, so they looked for water to a place that was relatively far from the location of the fire.

"The water source is quite far so the fleet is directed to take water to other locations, including waiting for the water supply from the tank car that we sent to the location so that it can tame the fire," he said.
After struggling to extinguish the blaze, BPBD employees, UPT Damkar Banjarbaru and Banjar Regency were supported by the TNI/Polri and volunteers, extinguishing the fire at around 20.00 WITA.
"Alhamdulillah, thanks to the alertness of all personnel including volunteers who jumped into the location of the fire, the flames were successfully tamed and did not burn the house in the complex," said Zaini.
