Microsoft Will Stop Capabilities To Buy New Games And DLC From Xbox 360

JAKARTA - November this year will be the 18th year for Xbox 360 since it was first launched. For this reason, Microsoft announced that it will bring some changes to Xbox 360 starting in 2024.

First, Microsoft said that on July 29, 2024, Xbox will stop supporting the ability to buy new games, DLC, and other entertainment content from the Xbox 360 Store on consoles and Xbox 360 Marketplace (marketplace.xbox.com).

Regarding this change, the Microsoft Movies & TV app will no longer work on Xbox 360, meaning, you will not be able to view TV content and movies on your Xbox 360 after July 29, 2024.

"This change will not affect your ability to play the Xbox 360 or DLC games you have purchased. The Xbox 360 game content purchased previously will remain available to play, including on Xbox One and XIS Xbox devices via backward compatibility," the company wrote.

Microsoft says that this change is their commitment to retaining the player's ability to play the content you have purchased on your selected device.

"Which means, we are committed to supporting gameplay Xbox 360 in the future and you will still be able to play and repeat downloads of previously purchased and connected content with friends," he explained.

For the record, to continue streaming and download Microsoft Movies & TV content that you have purchased on Xbox 360, you can download Microsoft Movies & TV apps available on Windows devices running Windows 10 or later, Xbox One, and Xbox Series XIS.

"Any content you buy from the Xbox 360 Store will remain in your library and is available for viewing on that device," Microsoft concluded.
