2,157 Climbers Prepare For Ceremony At Mount Bawakaraeng, South Sulawesi
Makassar National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), South Sulawesi, reported that 2,157 climbers had arrived at Mount Bawakaraeng to prepare for the ceremony to commemorate the 78th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia on August 17.
"Based on incoming data, the number of climbers who have been at the top of Bawakaraeng is 1,370 people, the Ramma Valley is 787 people with a total of 2,157 people," said Head of Makassar Basarnas Office Mexianus Bekabel in a statement reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 16.
Meanwhile, the strength of personnel who were alerted to join the Joint SAR Team was 236 people, spread at the Lembanna Main Command Post (Bawakaraeng Foot) as many as 67 people, Ramma Valley 18 people, five post 63 people, eight post 30 people and post 10 52 personnel.
The equipment used to guard these activities includes a rescue truck, rescue car, communication equipment, mountaineering equipment, navigation equipment and evacuation equipment.
Meanwhile, the radio frequency signal used by Basarnas is at Rx 159,300 Mhz, Tx 154.30p Mhz. Core Orari 147,00Mhz and MRB 154,920 Mhz.
For the organizers of this activity, it is supported by the Gowa Regency Government, in this case the Gowa BPBD and the South Sulawesi BKSDA. The registration process starts on August 15, apples and ceremonies for releasing climber participants on August 16.

"Information from the potential SAR from Unhas there was a climber who suffered an injury while going through the Tassos route. The victim was at Post 10. The terrain was quite heavy, so to shorten the time the Joint SAR Team which was already at Post eight and Post 10 had evacuated victims," he said.
