Bus Burns In Klaten, 46 Passengers Survived Tamasya To Parangtritis
YOGYAKARTA - One unit of a tourism bus caught fire on Jalan Solo-Yogyakarta in Klaten Sunday, August 13. A total of 46 bus passengers were declared safe.
Head of the Traffic Unit Unit of the Sukoharjo Police Kartasura, Aiptu Andriyas Christian DN, said that the bus caught fire, precisely at the intersection of the Nanggung, Kartasura District, Sukoharjo Regency at around 08.00 WIB.
Police officers who went to the location are now carrying out a case investigation (TKP) and then evacuating the burning bus carcass.
Andriyas explained that the PM Trans Tourism bus is the third bus from the motorcade of residents of Simo Boyolali to Parangtritis Beach, Bantul.
The bus driven by Hartoyo (51) upon arrival at the intersection of Nanggung Kartasura caught fire. The bus was previously about 300 meters old, the driver saw from the rear of the right side of the engine. The puff of smoke stopped, the driver and kernet got off.
However, the driver and kernet did not dare to open the hood of the engine at the back because there were already sparks and thick principles soaring higher.
The bus crew immediately opened the front and rear doors to evacuate as many as 46 passengers. Thus, all passengers survived and there were no casualties.

The bus crew took two apart from behind the driver's seat, but had not had time to use it because the fire was getting bigger and then spread to the bus's body.
"The driver did not have time to save the vehicle number sign (STNK) and caught fire. The fire that burned the bus was successfully extinguished by the fire department, but the bus was completely burned," he said.
From the information of the bus driver, it is suspected that the cause of the fire was a short circuit in AC electricity. There are indications of electricity from AC. However, the police are still investigating.
