PTPP Plants 100,000 Mangrove Trees And Development Of MSME Development Partners Timbulsloko Demak
JAKARTA - PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP), collaborated with seven other BUMN Karya in holding the Mangrove Planting Collaboration Program and Development of MSME Development Partners Growing Together with Karya in Timbulsloko village, Sayung District, Demak City.
Bakhtiyar Efendi, Corporate Secretary of PT PP (Persero) Tbk said this initiation was a form of PTPP's Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program in the economic and environmental fields, as well as supporting the welfare of the surrounding population by making a positive contribution.
In this activity, the Village Head Timbulsloko, Village Guidance Officer, Bhayangkara Community Security and Order Development, Head of the Rejeki Makmur Farmers Group, and villagers were also present. This collaboration program is carried out in the context of the 78th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia and is expected to improve the standard of living of the Timbulsloko village with the majority of the population as fishermen and mangrove farmers.
In this activity, PTPP, which is also a contractor for the Semarang-Demak Toll Road Section 1B as well as a developer and manager of PT PP Semarang-Demak, conducts TJSL in the form of planting 100,000 mangrove trees as well as entrepreneurship training for mangrove development.
"PTPP hopes that this activity can provide positive benefits, both in the environmental and economic fields of the surrounding communities," said Bakhtiyar in his statement, quoted on Friday, August 11.
The environmental benefits of planting mangrove trees are reducing the level of abrasion and carbon emissions, where it is known that every year there is an increase in water discharge in these villages which will gradually cause residents' houses that are submerged in sea water.
In addition, in the economic sector, PTPP conducts training to improve the competitiveness of mangrove products (mangrove crackers, mangrove dodols, mangrove flour, kripik and mangrove crackers) by providing production aids that can accelerate the processing process and update product packaging in order to increase the competitiveness of mangrove processed products in the market.
"This TJSL program is carried out as a tangible form of the Company in encouraging environmental sustainability and in improving the welfare of the Timbulsloko village community. In line with the direction of the Minister of SOEs, that the TJSL SOE program should focus on three priority fields, namely the field of Education, Environment and Development of Micro and Small Enterprises (UMK). This activity is a form of PTPP's commitment to sustainable development to be able to continue to contribute to Indonesia in providing benefits to the economic, social and environmental fields," explained Bakhtiyar.
